Moving on

I’m looking forward to this spring and summer more than ever…because it’s my LAST one in Chicago!

Yes, you read that right.  This is not an April fools joke.  At the end of the year, once I finish my Masters degree, I’ll be moving on from Chicago.

I’m not sure it’s even sunk in yet.  Everything started back in December when I saw an opportunity to move up in my company, take a new opportunity and with it a new adventure.  By mid February everything was finalized, and I agreed to this new adventure.

You don’t have to read many of my posts to know exactly how much I LOVE Chicago.  This city has claimed my heart, and will always have a very special place.  Am I sad to be leaving?  Of course!  But I’m also incredibly excited for this new adventure.  I’m excited to see a new city, push myself outside of my comfort zone and say yes to an adventure when there is nothing holding me back but myself.

Am I scared?  I’m going to be happy no matter where I live, and if I really miss Chicago there will be a way for me to come back.  I’m more scared of the regret of saying no, and not taking on this new experience.

Deep down, I hope my path eventually leads back to Chicago – whether it’s 5 or 50 years from now.  Chicago is my forever home.

So where is next?  You’ll have to stay tuned to learn!  Chicago will still be home base for a few more months, but there will be lots of trips around the country, and planning for the next adventure.  Meanwhile, I’ll be taking in every ounce of that Chicago summer.
